
Frans Onion Kip met Geroosterde Carrots & Mashed Potatoes
Een Amerikaans kip gerecht gemaakt met kip breasts, wortels, aardappelen en rundvlees stock.

verwarm de oven voor op 425 degrees. Wash and dry all produce. Trim, schil, and cut 340 g wortels on a diagonal into ¼-inch-thick pieces. Dice 5 aardappelen into ½-inch pieces. Halve, schil, and thinly snijd 1 ui.

schud door wortels on a baking sheet with a drizzle of olie, zout, and paprika peper. rooster tot browned and mals, 15-20 minuten.

ondertussen, leg aardappelen in a medium pot with enough salted water to dek af by 2 inches. breng aan de kook and kook tot mals, 12-15 minuten. giet af and return aardappelen to pot; dek af to houd warm.

While aardappelen kook, verhit a drizzle of olie in a large pan op middelhoog vuur. voeg toe ui and kook, stirring occasionally, tot lightly browned and softened, 8-10 minuten. bestrooi with 1 tsp suiker (2 tsp for 4 servings). roer erdoor stock concentrate and 2 TBSP water (¼ cup for 4); breng op smaak with zout and paprika. kook tot jammy, 2-3 minuten more. Turn off verhit; breng over to a small bowl. Wash out pan.

Pat kip dry with paper towels; breng op smaak all over with zout and paprika. verhit a drizzle of olie in pan used for ui op middelhoog vuur. voeg toe kip and kook tot browned and cooked through, 5-6 minuten per side. In the last 1-2 minuten of cooking, top with caramelized ui and kaas. dek af pan tot kaas melts. (If your pan doesn’t have a lid, dek af with a baking sheet!)

verhit pot with drained aardappelen op laag vuur; mash with 2 eetlepels zure room, 2 TBSP boter (4 TBSP for 4 servings), zout, paprika, and a splash of water (or melk, for extra richness) tot glad. Divide kip, roasted wortels, and mashed aardappelen between plates.
