This is a placeholder document while the site is being built.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your name, email address, and the password hash Strapi generates for you. Nothing else is required to sign up.
As you use the site we save the taste preferences you type during onboarding and the list of family members you add so that we can personalize recommendations.
Why we collect it
Every piece of personal data we keep has a single purpose: to help you find and share recipes you love.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with advertisers, and we do not use it for profiling beyond the suggestions shown inside the app.
How we store it
Your account lives in a self-hosted Strapi database. Connections are encrypted in transit, and your password is stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plain text.
Backups are retained for thirty days and encrypted at rest.
We send you email only for the two moments you invited us to: confirming the address on sign-up, and resetting your password if you forget it.
We never send marketing or newsletters from this address.
Cookies
We set a `session` cookie that carries the short-lived session token we need to keep you signed in. It is HTTP-only and site-scoped.
We also set a `gcb_consent` cookie when you interact with our cookie banner. It stores your category preferences (necessary, analytics, marketing, functional) so we do not ask again on every visit.
Analytics cookies (such as `_ga` from Google Analytics) are only placed after you explicitly accept the Analytics category. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie settings button at the bottom-left of the page.
Your rights
You can update your name, taste preferences, and family members at any time from your profile.
To export or delete your account, email contact@example.com and we will process the request within fourteen days.
