
Frosted Molasses Cookies
Soft molasses cookies topped with a simple butter cream icing. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
Ingredients

- 2Sugar237 ml
- 3Egg1 piece
- 4Molasses59 ml
- 5Flour473 ml
- 6Salt0.5 tsp
- 7Baking soda2 tsp
- 8Cinnamon1 tsp
- 9Cloves1 tsp
- 10Ginger2 tsp
- 11Butter2 tbsp
- 12Sweet cream2 tbsp
- 13Confectioners sugar237 ml
- 14Vanilla1 tsp
- 15Rum flavoring0.5 tsp
Method

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together 177 ml of butter and 237 ml of sugar.

Beat in 1 egg and 59 ml of molasses.

Stir together 473 ml of flour, 0.5 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp of cloves, and 2 tsp of ginger, then mix into the batter.

Flour your hands and roll dough into small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 7–10 minutes. Frost with Butter Cream Icing while still slightly warm.

Bring 2 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of sweet cream to a boil. Stir in 237 ml of confectioners sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 0.5 tsp of rum flavoring.
